Want to offset your flight? Well now you can actually do it in the flesh. No more boring calculation tables working out your CO2 emissions. At Alcantarilla you can simply borrow a spade, dig a hole and plant one of the many fruit trees that are constantly going into the working farmstead. One tree per flight should do the trick..the damage, just 20 euros.
In terms of food and fine dining. Apart from using owner Jon´s book Dining Secrets of Andalucia (Santana books) to find the best local restaurants, the resident cook can create a range of tasty dishes and entire meals by arrangement. There is a wine cellar at the house, with a range of wines to purchase, and a list of menus to cater for the whole family.
Alcantarilla Kitchen
We offer a menu of freshly prepared meals using local and seasonal ingredients and organic where possible. We cook for a minimum of 2 people and we prepare the same dishes for the whole group. The price is per person and includes a bottle of wine shared between two. The meal can often be served warm at lunchtime during the week, or can be reheated for the evening.
For the full choice of dishes please order in advance of your arrival. During your stay we cannot always ensure that every ingredient is available.
Arrival Tapas selection- 10 euros per person
Ronda cheese and home-made quince jam, marinated olives, slices of Spanish omelette(tortilla), Arriate salami,anchovy and fresh goat´s cheese.Bread and oil, and of course, wine.
A light meal – 15 euros per person

- Beetroot and feta salad with mustard and balsamic vinegar dressing
Main Course
- Cazuela de pescado; fish and sea-food stew
- Succulent pork (carrillada) with sofrito and carrot sauce
- Tomato, aubergine and chickpea stew with spices and pomegranate molasses (vegetarian)
- Chicken with white wine and mushroom sauce
- Slow cooked lamb with white wine , aubergines and bay leaves
All served with our own rocket and mixed leaf salad and a bowl of couscous.
