Ronda is just 45 minutes from the Costa del Sol, in sunny southern Spain. But while just 50 miles in distance, it is one million miles in character, the ancient settlement, largely unspoilt and still preserving many of its ancient Moorish and Roman buildings.
Enveloped by rugged, verdant mountains, Ronda has existed since the ancient Phoenicians and is one of the most popular towns to visit in Spain.
Its surroundings are breathtaking, being surrounded by two national parks, as well as the imposing Serrania de Ronda range that separates it from the coast.
La Alcantarilla can be found in the sleepy, rural Llano de la Cruz between Ronda and nearby Arriate, ten minutes away. Both Sevilla and Jerez airports are an hour and a half away, while Malaga airport can be reached in an hour and a quarter.'
